The office of the Risk Manager is
responsible for the management of workers’ compensation claims made by employees
of the State of Nebraska. Workers’ compensation for state employees is subject
to the same rules and procedures as workers’ compensation for employees of
private companies.
Worker’s compensation is designed to provide
benefits to workers who suffer injury or disease in the course of and as a
result of their employment. An injured worker may receive indemnity benefits
and/or medical benefits. In some situations, workers will be eligible for
vocational rehabilitation.
