Strategic Plan

This is the Director's strategic plan guidance to focus agency initiatives.  The four (4) principles of the Strategic Plan are comprised of 14 strategic goals which embed the Governor's "Nebraska United" vision for State government.

Vision

The Department of Administrative Services' (DAS) vision is to be a value-adding partner with our customer; providing services and strategies that improve the quality and cost effectiveness of public services.

Mission

To provide expertly managed services to our customers that maximize the efficiency of state government.

Principles or Strategic Goals

  1. Effectively communicate with our customers to build an appropriate and responsive portfolio of DAS services, products and facilities.

Develop and implement a process for understanding our customers' mission, goals, needs, and concerns including identifying partnering opportunities.

Develop and implement a process for measuring customer needs and satisfaction levels.

Develop and implement a process for communicating available DAS products, services and facility information to our customers.

 

  1. Deliver high quality, cost-effectively managed services, products and facilities to our customers.

Determine Service centrally provided by DAS to achieve significant savings for the State of Nebraska.

Improve and maintain the integrity of capital investments in state buildings, equipment and technology.

Identify and implement cost containment within cost centers.

Evaluate processes and procedures on a periodic basis and act upon that evaluation for maximum efficiency.

 

  1. Focus our financial resources on services and projects that achieve economic benefits for the State of Nebraska.

Review costs of services and products and analyze for potential reduction.

Select technologies that reduce operational costs and optimize human resources.

Provide our customers with the information and tools they need to make sound business decisions.

 

  1. Attract, motivate and retain a workforce that can provide the services needed by our customers.

Improve and maintain good employee morale.

Invest in the competencies of our workforce.

Attract and retain the best work force.

Implement the DAS Affirmative Action Plan.
